Jonathan Thai
Jonathan Thai is a native to the Bay Area. With a previous background in Studio Art, his approach to design is fluid, and can combine artistic instinct with dedicated design research, to create innovative, beautiful, and balanced solutions.
He has experience working with innovative brands in the consumer electronics, gaming, medical, and lifestyle industries. Jonathan is co-founder/Partner at Hatch Duo, a design consultancy in the Bay Area.
Jon has worked in a breadth of design environments, from startups, consultancies, to large corporate companies. Currently, he is co-founder/owner and design lead of two companies : Aggregate, an e-commerce watch brand, and Hatch Duo, a design consultancy. Prior to that, he lead Ubiquiti Networks in paving the way to enter the consumer market, utilizing his extensive experience in consumer product design. There, Jon lead industrial design efforts, directly under the CEO. He also contributed and led UI/UX, packaging, and identity design for the upcoming consumer brands. Prior to UBNT, Jon has designed at Sol Republic, an Audio Lifestyle Headphone company, where he helped shape Relays Sport Wireless, their first wireless sport headphone. He also has extensive design consultancy experience at award winning design firms : Y Studios and Whipsaw, designing for major clients including : Sonos, Activision, Huawei, and TP Link.
His designs have been recognized with international awards such as Red Dot & IDEA, and featured in publications like GQ, Mashable, Business Insider, and Design Insider.
Aside from his passion in design and entrepreneurship, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife and children, watching Warriors basketball, traveling, and meeting other entrepreneurs to collaborate.
